Don’t forget about Pastor Steve’s ordination next Sunday evening at 5 pm. A taco bar supper will follow.
We will still have Sunday School tomorrow at 9:30. The kids will continue their regular classes and the adults will have a fellowship time with goodies. The Interfaith Community Service starts at 10:30 in Scout Park. Bring your lawn chairs.

It’s almost Old Settlers! You’ll be able to spot some kids and adults from First Mennonite in several of the activities this weekend. Let us know what else you are participating in! We will be participating in the Interfaith Community Worship Service on Sunday morning at 10:30 am. Sunday School will still take place at First Mennonite at 9:30 and then we will walk over to Scout Park.

Local Family Preservation organizations are requesting school supplies for families receiving services. If you would like to donate some items, you can drop off at St. Francis Community Services (423 SE 10th, Newton) or bring to the church by August 11th.
SAVE THE DATE! Pastor Steve’s Ordination Service will be held on August 25th at 5 pm, with a supper following. There are guidelines and requirements that pastors have to meet before being ordained in the Western District Conference, and we are so happy to celebrate this milestone with Pastor Steve and his family! All are welcome to attend and enjoy fellowship during the meal.

We will be collecting supplies for School Kits again this year. The supplies can be brought anytime on or before Christian Ed Sunday in September.
It’s First Camp Week and these kids were so ready to get it started! Pray that they have a fun and safe couple of days at Camp Mennoscah.

Art for the Heart fundraiser was a lot of fun! Thanks to Sarah Diamond for sharing her family’s story and the purpose behind her foundation, The Heart of MFB, and to Melisa for sharing her talents with the group.
Join us for our Church Pool Party this coming Saturday from 6-8 pm at the Halstead Pool. Bring snacks to share.

What a treat it was to have Gabriel’s Trumpets with us for Bethel College Sunday. Kyle and Braden Unruh did a fantastic job with the Children’s Story, and Brad Kohlman’s message on faith formation was excellent.
A broken heater won’t stop the service! Our Worship Service moved to Stauffer Hall and was a great change in routine. The old pump organ (and Kent) got a work out, and the choir did a great job adding to our 5th Sunday music. Thanks for all the flexibility this morning!
